Before and After meme

The left one was painted in 2007, the right last year. Big difference?? I was going for a beagle on both tries. No ref for painting so they pretty much both dont look like beagles. The left is damaged, chipped here and ther, even the tail broke off , and the right has a shiny coat of something that i forgot the name of.
